THE CONCEPT.

The Five-Two Review is a positive review blog for literature. The concept is based on the notion that anything can and will be appreciated, even if it is only by one person. Something positive can be found in anything.

Over the past few decades, criticism has become encouraged as easily by anonymity as by fame, to the point of becoming an acceptable pastime. Creative minds find themselves daunted by the sheer thought of receiving waves of undeserved hatred. The Five-Two hopes to redefine reviewing as it is done today by modern media and on social media.

THE RULES.

Here, you will find no grades, no stars, no links to author websites or purchasing platforms.

We solemnly vow to respect all things literary, without discriminating genre (cough, cough fantasy is better than sci-fi) or fundamental nature of a work.

We will review whatever falls under our noses be it older pieces of literature or hot, new releases. The genre and style will vary, depending on current mood and available books.

In Literature, we will try to publish one review each week, in order to get to the fifty-two weeks of the year. Each review is composed of a general summary and exposition where objectivism is the ultimate goal, as much as is possible from a human brain.

Since we are not dimwitted, fairy-chasing, flower-picking teletubbies, we still believe that nothing can be entirely perfect. Everybody is unique and possesses their own critical mind; what may be a masterpiece to someone is not to another. To satisfy that need, at the end of each review, you will find FIVE of our favorite things about a work and TWO of our least favorite things. There will always be more positive than negative things to say about literature. Obviously, this part is subjective, though the goal in mind is to give readers a personal insight into the more appreciable aspects of a book, contrasting with what could have been better.

We are not remunerated for our literature reviews (nor do we think we will ever be because who would pay to read a blog like this?).

THIS IS OUR FIRST REVIEW BLOG SO WE ARE ABSOLUTELY OPEN TO ANY FORM OF CRITICISM AND SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO IMPROVE!

THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING US!

THINK POSITIVE!
